With a degree in Marketing and Advertising, Eguzki\u00f1e complements her career with studies in Photography and Graphic Design<\/strong>. Subsequently, he continued to expand his training and knowledge with courses related to web design<\/strong>, which defined the field of work that he has developed for 20 years.<\/p>\n

Balancing the scales<\/h3>\n

In 2009, a vocational turning point occurred in his life. Saturated with designing digitally, she is more interested in handmade graphic processes; she takes painting and mixed techniques<\/strong> courses with Maite Unzurrunzaga, watercolor<\/strong> with Juan Carlos Cardesin, and participates in illustration<\/strong> seminars with Javier Zabala<\/a>. Re-encounter with ceramics<\/h3>\n

In 2016, she took a potter’s wheel<\/strong> workshop, finding the art of ceramics<\/strong> a completely addictive activity. From then on, he entered the Artezaleak School in Zarautz to study other clay forming techniques<\/strong>; pinching, slabs, churros, sculpture and enameling techniques. She has also taken courses on ceramic illustration<\/strong> with Xabier Monsalvatje<\/a>, glazes and decorative techniques with Ana Felipe Royo<\/a>, molds with Carlos Mart\u00ednez<\/a> and improvement of the potter’s wheel with Ramon Fort<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Exhibitions<\/h3>\n

Between 2010 and 2011 he participated in several poster contests, winning several awards during those two years. In the same year, he presented his first painting exhibition in Torre Luzea. Years later he held group exhibitions of ceramics in Ebro Etxea and Villa Munda in Zarautz and in 2022 he repeated in Luzea Tower with an exhibition dedicated to ceramics and illustration.<\/p>\n

“In ceramics<\/strong> I like handmade-looking finishes<\/strong> such as irregular edges, asymmetrical and imperfect pieces, characteristics that are achieved with techniques such as Japanese pinch or clay coils. With the potter’s wheel it is difficult to find these finishes because of his rotating action, which gives the pieces symmetry and a smoother appearance. <\/em><\/p>\n

In drawing<\/a> I like uneven lines and areas. I try to flee from drawings with real proportions, but without wanting to, I often tend to do so and there is an internal struggle, because I am a perfectionist, but paradoxically I am attracted to the imperfect. Being able to see the beauty in imperfection is a constant learning process; overcoming resistance, flowing and accepting the results”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Quien est\u00e1 detr\u00e1s de Potto:<\/h1>

B\u00daSQUEDA Y ENCUENTRO<\/h2>

Mi viaje con la cer\u00e1mica comenz\u00f3 en 2016, despu\u00e9s de una carrera de 20 a\u00f1os como dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica, ilustradora, dise\u00f1o web y animaci\u00f3n. Desde muy joven sent\u00ed una atracci\u00f3n muy fuerte por la cer\u00e1mica, la escultura y el torno alfarero. De ni\u00f1a hac\u00eda esculturas de caras enormes en la arena de la playa. Con 15 a\u00f1os hice un curso de verano de t\u00e9cnicas de pintura sobre cer\u00e1mica. Con 22 a\u00f1os tuve la oportunidad de utilizar brevemente un torno alfarero y es ah\u00ed donde me enamore por completo, pero fue un amor fugaz que no pudo ser hasta 20 a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde.<\/p>

En el 2009 debido a la din\u00e1mica de trabajo que ten\u00eda como dise\u00f1adora web, sent\u00ed la necesidad de recuperar mi parte m\u00e1s artesanal. Tanta tecnolog\u00eda, c\u00f3digos, scripts me estaban matando. Por lo que empec\u00e9 de nuevo a dibujar, cosa que hacemos todos de ni\u00f1os y que luego no s\u00e9 por qu\u00e9 vamos perdiendo. Esto marc\u00f3 un reencuentro con mi interior. Poco a poco comenc\u00e9 a buscar, investigar y descubrir nuevas formas de expresarme a trav\u00e9s de mis dibujos<\/a>, esculturas<\/a>, grabados, serigraf\u00edas<\/a>, etc, pero eso no era todo, todav\u00eda estaba por llegar aquel amor olvidado en lo m\u00e1s profundo de mi. Todo esto suena muy cursi, pero es totalmente cierto. Siento si suena algo empalagoso ;)<\/p>

En oto\u00f1o del 2016 vi un cartel que ofrec\u00eda un curso intensivo de cer\u00e1mica en torno alfarero. De cabeza me fui all\u00ed y me puse a hacer pottitos como una loca, me encantaba, me relajaba y me volv\u00ed adicta al torno. Cuando acab\u00f3 el curso contin\u00fae yendo a la escuela Artezaleak de Zarautz<\/a> a aprender esmaltes, experimentar y experimentar, es todo un mundo.<\/p>

Pienso que por mi esp\u00edritu inquieto e inconformista, siempre estoy en una b\u00fasqueda constante. Quiz\u00e1s, es el anhelo de conocimiento y descubrimiento de mi propia naturaleza. En esa b\u00fasqueda hay algo que no se explicar, pero me impulsa, me emociona y me arrastra a experimentar y hacer cosas con las que disfruto y por las que siento pasi\u00f3n. Estar motivada con lo que hago es una necesidad. A veces me gustar\u00eda ser m\u00e1s calmada, relajada y tranquila, pero a estas alturas de mi vida he descubierto que no puedo!<\/p>

Han pasado casi dos a\u00f1os desde mi segunda interacci\u00f3n con la cer\u00e1mica y casi 10 a\u00f1os desde que retom\u00e9 mis dibujos de infancia, ahora ya s\u00e9 lo que quiero, me ha costado llegar aqu\u00ed, he dado muchas vueltas, idas, venidas, etc, por eso ya estoy lista para crear mi proyecto personal y profesional basado en cer\u00e1mica e ilustraci\u00f3n: POTTO<\/strong>, donde puedo aunar mis pasiones; dibujo, escultura y cer\u00e1mica, todo en uno!, que bien, no?<\/p>

MI FORMA DE TRABAJAR<\/h2>

En cuanto a la forma en la que trabajo, soy muy perfeccionista, pero no es un perfeccionismo est\u00e9tico sino que soy muy meticulosa y me gusta hacer bien las cosas, odio las chapuzas, pero lo que no entiendo es que a la hora de dibujar, me gustan las l\u00edneas y \u00e1reas imperfectas e irregulares, no me gustan los dibujos de proporciones reales ni perfectos, con la cer\u00e1mica lo mismo, me gustan los bordes irregulares y las piezas asim\u00e9tricas, entonces que me pasa?...un psicoanalista por favor porque yo no me entiendo!<\/p>

ESTUDIOS<\/h2>

A mucha gente le gusta saber que estudios tiene una persona que se dedica a tal o cual profesi\u00f3n. Mi formaci\u00f3n universitaria no tiene mucho que ver con lo que he desarrollado a posteriori, simplemente la vida me ha llevado por un camino que a los 17 a\u00f1os, cuando ten\u00eda que tomar esa decisi\u00f3n tan trascendental, no ten\u00eda nada claro. Estudi\u00e9 marketing y publicidad (una carrera muy nueva en aquella \u00e9poca y de la que casi no se sab\u00eda nada). Entre b\u00e1sicamente porque entre las materias hab\u00eda dibujo y fotograf\u00eda, que en esa \u00e9poca me gustaban mucho. A mitad de carrera, como era una hija muy estudiosa no quise decirle a mi padre que no me gustaba mucho y que prefer\u00eda cambiar y hacer bellas artes, que era lo que realmente ten\u00eda que haber estudiado y que no hice porque un amigo de la familia se encargo de tirar todo por la borda hablando mal de ella, as\u00ed que segu\u00ed y termin\u00e9 a pesar de que no me hac\u00eda til\u00edn. Finalmente me gradu\u00e9 y empec\u00e9 a estudiar un curso de un a\u00f1o de dise\u00f1o gr\u00e1fico por ordenador que me abri\u00f3 el campo laboral que he desarrollado estos 20 a\u00f1os.
